Careers

July 8, 2008 / by LaurenandEmelia

I think it's ridiculous that at 18 you have to decide what you want to be for the rest of your life.  Come on! I was more concerned about having fun at college!  And now I have this engineering degree.  It's a good degree to have, but not so great when you hate engineering.

Can someone give me some ideas on a career change?

I just caught your blog while signing out, hence my reply.  I have worked in the engineering area for most of my working life.  I evolved into sales even though I was shy.  As it ended up, I enjoyed the heck out of it.  Oh, I am presently partially retired (I want to continue working, but my states economy is real bad).  I evolved into sales at just about the age you are now.  I have three college educated kids, one of our goals.  I can't think of a greatly thing we have done.

Actually, you can see,  I am a Marine and I don't regret a minute of the time I spent with them.  I was able to get a associates degree while in and this allow us to make enough to educate our kids.  They went to Catholic schools to give them the disipline for college.  I know they had fun in college.

Best wishes to you sister, she needs a Detroit Tiger hat. LOL.  The med?  My fist tour in the Marines was 26 months in, are you ready for this,....Naples, Italy.

I wish you well and much sucess,

    Intruder Marine
